Since my order of
Keisuke Saka's (also info here in English) book "Karakuri" arrived
in the post the other day
I have been busily making paper automata
from the templates inside, building up an
understanding of how these things work.
I have long been interested in automata
and this is a great jumping off point for me,
combining paper sculpture and automata
with detailed instructions and templates.

Now that does look interesting, Robyn! I never quite got beyond the rubber-bands-and-cardboard things we made as kids.
